Mosconi and Sparer win the first Ciaminada over 5.3 km
Edoardo Mosconi (U.S.A.M. Baitona) and Sandra Sparer (LF Sarntal Raiffeisen) won the 11th edition, the first with the new 5.3 km Pradiei format, with 250 participants.
The 11th edition of the Ciaminada Nonesa took place on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the Sarnonico sports center. For the first time the main race was held on the Pradiei course, a 5.3 km cycling path between Sarnonico and Romeno. Around 250 participants lined up across the 28 categories for youth and adults.
Men
Edoardo Mosconi (U.S.A.M. Baitona) won the men’s race in 19:55.
Women
Sandra Sparer (LF Sarntal Raiffeisen) won the women’s race in 20:44, just 49 seconds behind Mosconi in the overall standings.
A renewed format
The shorter distance and expanded categories transformed the Ciaminada into a more accessible event, open to runners of all levels and ages. The flat, fast 5.3 km Pradiei course allowed 250 participants to race competitively, while the top athletes from VSS and CSI clubs contested the titles in their respective categories. The format, designed to remain stable over time, was confirmed already at its first running.
