Ciaminada Nonesa returns after 2020 cancellation
Racing resumes on August 22, 2021. The comeback edition runs under specific health protocols: a fenced competition zone, temperature checks, and mandatory declarations for all entrants.
After the 2020 pandemic cancellation, Ciaminada Nonesa returns on Sunday, August 22, 2021. The Organizing Committee, in line with the national regulations then in force, set out the measures needed for the event to go ahead safely.
The measures in place
On entering the fenced competition zone - designated as a sensitive area - every athlete must:
- sanitize their hands;
- have their temperature taken;
- receive a wristband confirming they have passed the entry checks and allowing free movement inside and outside the zone;
- sign a declaration confirming no fever in the previous days and no contact with COVID-19 positive persons.
Identification is by race number, without requiring a tax code. Non-athlete companions must sign a separate declaration.
A return to racing
The 2020 cancellation was the first gap in the history of the modern Ciaminada Nonesa, which had run without interruption since 2011. The 2021 edition, though necessarily more restrained, marks a return to the valley’s autumn running calendar.
